Lunch in 30 minutes

Ričota s pršutom in treviškim radičem

Sestavine (za dve zelo lačni osebi):
- 180g ješprenja
- 200g treviškega radiča (majhna glavica)
- 150g kraškega pršuta (ena debela rezina)
- pol majhne čebule
- olje
- poper
- sol
- parmezan

Priprava:
Najprej skuhamo ješprenj. Jaz ga kuham okrog 25 minut, prej ga ne namakam (ker vedno pozabim). Ko je ješprenj skuhan, ga odcedimo in dodamo k ostalim sestavinam. Vse skupaj dobro premešamo in pražimo še kakšno minuto, da se okusi povežejo. Postrežemo z naribanim parmezanom.

Dober tek! :)

Simple dinner

No, I'm not dead. :) I know I'm a lazy *beep* when it comes to blogging, but no worries, I have loads of excuses. Firstly, let me just mention the warm weather (coffee in the sun? -yes please, everyday!), then I went to (the beautiful and warm) Tenerife for one week, me and my dear are also renovating our little "balcony" (it's just a small room, because it's a closed balcony, but it will be sooo pretty when it's done - pictures are coming) and last but not least: I have an exam tomorrow (yes, on a Saturday), so I've been a busy bee. :)
Enough with the excuses, let me show you what I cooked for dinner two days ago:

Prawns with eggs, carrots and spring onion

Recipe:

For 2 people: 300g of prawns, 1 large carrot (grated), 3-4 eggs (beaten), 3 spring onions (finely sliced), 2 tbsp of soy sauce, a pinch of chinese 5 spice powder, peanut oil

Heat the peanut oil in a wok, add the grated carrots and half of the spring onions, stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Add beaten eggs and stir-fry for another minute. Add prawns, soy sauce and chinese 5 spice powder. Stir-fry for around 5 minutes or until the prawns are red. Serve with the rest of the fresh spring onions. :)

This is becoming one of my favorite recipes for dinner. It's just so easy to make and sooo delicious. Also, you can use any vegetable you want (chinese cabbage, mushrooms, ...) and if you're not a fan of soy sauce or exotic spices, a pinch of salt and pepper would work just fine.

Vienna

Last year we visited Vienna twice. Once in summer (July) and then again in October. I wanted to show you some photos - they are crappy like always when I go somewhere. I always say next time I'll take loads of photos and they will be beautiful. But they never are. :) I am not much of a photographer (but I sure think I am). Haha. So off to the photos. Not for those who like watching tourist sights, it was more of a culinary journey / let's wander around kinda trip.

 On the road.

My lunch in a vietnamese restaurant. It was good, noodles in a spicy "soup", lots of veggies, spring rolls and some crunchy pork.

We saw loads of asian markets, where you can get pretty much anything.

And of course I had to have my favourite ice shaken green tea in Stabucks.

Midnight snack on the street - lucky noodles.

Exhibition we saw.

I already wrote about THE CUPCAKES! :)

The amazing sushi we had at Kojiro.

The view from the 5th floor of our hostel (Wombats on the Naschmarkt).

The best falafel in town.

And it is the best! ;)

Again sushi + tempura.

Don't know why, but I was fascinated by that building.

What's baking?

A few days ago I was watching Rudolph's bakery on 24kitchen and he made some gorgeous  puff pastry baskets. Of course I wanted to test them out as soon as possible and my dear also wanted to try out one of Jamie Oliver's recipes with mushrooms and asparagus, so we quickly made a decision for today's lunch.

My dear was working with the wok ...

... and I made these.

We put it together and this is the result!

For dinner I made some quick pizza rolls from the leftover puff pastry. Mix tomato sauce, grated cheese, pepper and oregano (in the original recipe there's also curd and eggs). Spread it on puff pastry. Cover with ham. Roll it up and cut into 1cm thick pieces. Bake at 200° for 20 minutes.
